from #268: relevant background

  • ocean gn / Omon / sos
    • [ ] nc_copy bug
    • [ ] rewrite ocean file with missing lat(yh, xh), lon(yh, xh) from statics if avail
    • find statics file in bronx pp directory
    • copy lat/lon info from statics file
    • compute _bnds for copied lat/lon on native grid
    • check that these are appended to the file correctly
    • spin off to sep issue
    • compute required bnds for xh, yh
    • adjust cmor_mixer logic to permit setting a cmor.grid without large structural changes
    • actually successfully run and process the file
