Multiple vendors report that it's malicious on VirusTotal.
Virus Total - Latest x64 Release

Some previous releases do as well. I'm not sure at which version it starts.

It would be a good idea to find the point it changes, and investigate the commits.

This is a recurring issue with virus scanners.

All methods that allow you to take python code and compile it into a Windows .exe file get flagged as potentially malicious. The alternative basically is to not provide a .exe version, but that will cause even more complaints.

I'm afraid that this is not really fixable until these virus scanners start having better detection choices...
