Question regarding svg, canvas, other unsupported elements

Is it possible to accommodate svg or canvas markup if it is purely static?

Not currently. We made this decision for a number of reasons, but I think the main ones are:

1. Significantly bloats x-parser to have forking logic (e.g., svg tags are case-sensitive).
2. Implicates x-parser / x-template in doing unsafe things. We want authors to do this explicitly.
3. You can create a static template outside x-parser to do this. E.g., using setHTMLUnsafe on a <template>.
