Usually Alarms are suppressed or shelved - which makes the disappear from an alarm screen (See IEC 62682 for a description of the alarm model that is available in OPC). The Shelved option is for an Operator to hide an alarm on an alarm screen. The Suppressed is for an automated system to do the same, i.e. when a piece of equipment is turned off alarm related to temperature or pressure would be suppressed - since the equipment is off. I don't believe anything needs to be added |

The underlying system gives information when an operator hides an alarm. I have not found any property (yet) in the alarms and conditions model for modeling information about hiding. Does it require a custom subtype of an existing base type?
