failed to sign into Azure in teams toolkit

Whenever I try to sign into my Azure account on teams toolkit in the vS extension, I get this error: Cannot use 'in' operator to search for 'name' in Timed out waiting for authentication provider to register

I resolved it by doing it through visual studio code instead of cursor
