Discrepancy between blog article and documentation about global availability of NAA in Office apps

We are investigating NAA as a viable option to implement in our Office addins. We have Office addins for Teams, One Outlook, Word online and Excel online.

In this recent post https://devblogs.microsoft.com/microsoft365dev/nested-app-authentication-now-generally-available-across-microsoft-365/ is stated that NAA is now generally available for Teams and Outlook.

In the documentation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/develop/enable-nested-app-authentication-in-your-add-in is only Teams marked as GA, while Word online, Excel online, PowerPoint online are still in preview.

Teams isn't mentioned in the table. Does Teams doesn't support NAA? Or is that a different flavor?

Please demystify the support of NAA in all Office apps for us.

Thank you for reaching out. The blog is correct: NAA is GA for Teams.

The table you're referencing in add-ins documentation is only describing the availability for Office Add-in applications, not the larger M365 scope. I agree this segregation of information can be confusing, since it's not necessarily how your extensibility project is configured (you could have an Outlook add-in + Teams app that uses a single unified manifest). Conversely, for developers making a single-application extension can be confused or overwhelmed if we include too much information about other applications.
