AV1 Support

is AV1 inside webm supported?
If not (as it seams for my installation) AV1 support would be great, too.

@Metis77 It should work on macs M3 and above, but it doesn't, and neither it does for me, in Safari, when setting the WebCodecs AV1 codec feature flag for it.
I spent some hours trying to figure it out, to no avail yet.

However, I tried on the public version of my other extension QLCodec, and it plays flawlessly the sample AV1 webm files I downloaded, including a lovely 4K hdr 60fps video of trees.

Can you try it and let me know?
In system's Settings, within Extensions, inside Quicklook, you would have to unselect the Webm Quicklook and, after having launched the QLCodec-containing app, select QLC quicklook.
QLCodec does not interfere with 'normal' files such as .mov, .mp4 etc. It's there to fill the gaps and only handles what macOS doesn't, such as for example webm, mkv or wmv.

But not the QuickLook that is integrated on the right side of the finder stays black.
But the quicklook that shows, when I click "space" works.

What happens if you click one or more times on the finder's right side's QuickLook?

If it needs a click to load in that specific case, it might be because I use a different, ultra-light, logic to initially display a frame there, avoiding loading the actual player.

And what about in "Gallery" view?
And in full screen (opt space)

I have actually been working on an update for QLCodec for more time than initially envisioned -hence the current lack of updates.

Something else, I found out.

for WebM (VP9 Codec):
On the right side a preview image with a huge transparent "play" icon is shown, but not playback.
Playback works if I press space or opt space.

for WebM (AV1 Codec)
The right side stays black, but some kind of media Icons called "Video" displays after some seconds.
Playback works if I press space or opt space.

But if I press space too quicke / often in a row, everything seams to crash.
right side and space only show the loading icon.

After restarting finder, it works again as before.
