@mominul I think riti is currently tightly coupled with Avro Layout, the previous versions supported custom json for phonetic layouts but the suggestions were based on the english input using Avro regex rules.

To add khipro support I think we need to:

• Bring back phonetic JSON, I tried parsing JSON files with https://crates.io/crates/okkhor, but could not do it.
• For suggestions make avro a special case where https://crates.io/crates/upodesh is used, and for other custom phonetic layout use the same suggestion method as fixed .

If anyone wants to add Khipro to OpenBangla, the steps will be:

For suggestions in Bangla IM I use the following hack 😉:
upodesh( dhoni( any_phonetic_converter( input ) ) )

Rust libs are compiled to wasm by wasm_bindgen.
I understand layout based custom suggestion strategy gives better suggestions, but no all phonetic layout has custom suggestion logic like avro 😅.

@rank-coder Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think this can be exactly mapped to the Okkhor data structure. We can try to put a separate khipro implementation in Okkhor. It will take some time.

BTW, I really liked the idea of not using combined keystrokes to type Bangla in Khipro.

BTW @gulshan , you can try to implement the full m17n mim spec, that would make okkhor support thousands of published mim layouts.
