Support for smaller screen sizes (800x600)

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
We'd like to use this software with an actual industrial touch screen, which unfortunately has limited resolution.

Describe the solution you'd like
It would be nice if the UI could adjust itself to fit smaller screen sizes.

Describe alternatives you've considered
The window has a limit on its minimum size. Some window manages like Plasma can force a smaller size. It also works out of the box in LightDM (like a kiosk). When doing this the layout breaks, but it can be fixed by zooming out. However, the buttons and sliders become tiny and hard to use by touch input.

Ctrl+mousewheel to zoom out will help

Indeed, zooming out will make the UI elements fit on screen. However, they get so small that it becomes very hard to use with a touch screen.
