Testing my own airfoil design in OpenFAST help

How would i add my airfoil design that i made in RFOIL or XFOIL to openfast so that i can test out my geometry?

Dear @lt72884,

In OpenFAST, airfoil polars (lift, drag, and pitching moment dependent on angle of attack) are specified within airfoil data files for use within the AeroDyn module.

ok, so i need to find the polar values in my rfoil and xfoil software then add them to the aerodyn module. Is therea tutorial or document showing how to do this step? thanks again for your help

I can see the following in the aerodyn file

so how do i get my RFOIL polr to be in a table like the DU35_A17.dat is? I assume once the polars and cordinates are in the correct table format, i just point the aerodyn file to it correct?

You can edit the airfoil files to specify your polar data. The airfoil data files are documented here: https://openfast.readthedocs.io/en/main/source/user/aerodyn/input.html#airfoil-data-input-file.
