Description
Although text and animation based learnings are helpful, many modern learners prefer a video instructor. By integrating live lecturers, students can viscerally feel a larger sense of support and have auditory feeds as they process new information. This is also a great way to showcase our highly valued advisors in a field they already know a lot about which can serve as quality outreach material! This ticket encompasses piloting a lecture, designing a reusable process for inviting in additional lecturers, and proposes the situations in which guest lecturers are appropriate.
Outputs: a POC of a single lecture session and a design document detailing the following.
People:
- Who are guest lecturers? (Reclass members? Advisors? Random people in industry?)
- Who conducts the recording? (Does the lecturer do it independently, does outreach grab their recording?)
What:
- What types of subjects benefit from a lecturer over text or animations?
- Should we have guest interviewees for career talks? Is this the same category? (How about Hackday videos?)
When:
- How frequently do we want to invite Lecturers?
- How far out in advance do we need to reach out to them?
