Hi, I'm using Proton VPN from F-Droid and I update the app there. However, whenever there's an update, I see it first on the Play Store, since the app has the same package name on the Play Store and F-Droid. Then I check GitHub to see that there's a new release, so in a few days I get the update on F-Droid and finally update the app during which I have to deal with the app constantly showing up as having an update when I can't even update the app with the Play Store (yes I could just install the Play Store version but nah)

Anyway I'm used to that and that's not why I'm here. Since early December of 2025 (play Store says 10th Dec), there's been a new update on the Play Store with the version 5.14.87.0. The latest version on F-Droid (and also on GitHub) is 5.14.76.0 which was released on GitHub on 2nd Dec and on F-Droid on 4th Dec. There seems to be no new release after that. Why does this discrepancy exist? Was the release for GitHub and F-Droid forgotten or was the update a fix for something that only affected the Play Store version?
