I was using the pixi-pack-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc.exe (v0.1.6). But today Windows has flagged the program as a trojan (Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml)

I will try to see if this also happens for 0.1.7.

It doesn't seem to happen for 0.1.7. At least for now.

Are there any way to avoid this from happening again at some point? I mean will also happen if the exe was signed?

i don't know how complicated it would be to sign windows executables.
also, https://stackoverflow.com/a/62365074 suggests that one can submit the file to https://www.microsoft.com/wdsi/filesubmission and let microsoft figure out what's triggering the false positive.
since i haven't heard anything that the newer releases are marked as trojan, i'll close this issue for now
