settings_default and applist_default file #324

Hi,
It would be great if the process of merging the latest changes to the user's SavedSettings and CustomAppList could be improved.
To start with, it would be useful to be able to copy two default files from the repository and comment/uncomment my personal preferences.
This is currently possible for the applist.
You can copy Applist.txt from the repository and rename it CustomAppList.
You can then comment/uncomment and regularly compare CustomAppList to the repo Applist.txt to merge new apps into your CustomAppList.
But this not possible for SavedSettings, as there is no Settings file in the repo with all possible configurations.
I created a PR as a starting point, but it was closed.

Could we create this settings file and perhaps also standardise the file names as 'example' or 'default'?
I think this would make the documentation and the process of running it easier.
