Help with source code zip files

Hi I see the latest insiders 3.2.8 is two assets, a zip file and a tar.gz. I wanted to set up a new RPI 5 on 3.2.8. I can do the usual installaion by installing bookworm and using the bash script. I wondered about using the zip file but my limited knowledge of coding does not cover using this source. I could not find much on using this file for a fresh install - maybe I missed it - if so sorry for the question but is there a guide to using this asset to install 3.2.8? Thanks!

Is there a reason you wish to do it manually? then you can find the documentation here: https://docs.raspap.com/manual/ else the recomended way is to do the quick install

Thanks for the link. I had no resason to use a manual approach I was just curious about the source file and how to use it! I see that there is no advantage and I will use the quick installer. Do I understand correctly that the RaspAP images do not apply to the insiders version? Thanks again for your response.

The source files archives are automatically generated by GitHub. They're useful if, for example, you want to do a manual install without using git. Correct re: RaspAP images; these are the non-Insiders release (ie., this repo) which you may then upgrade using the installer's --upgrade --insiders switches.

One note regarding the images: a bug prevents iptables IP routing and masquerading rules from being applied at build-time, so for now this needs to be done manually at first boot.

Just fyi, i felt it easier doing a fresh official bookworm update through the radpi imager and then just doing the quick install. Just letting you know there are another option.
