This would involve submitting a Request For Packaging to F-Droid and (if successful) updating the website to reflect that the Refuge Restrooms app is also available on F-Droid as well as the Google and Apple play stores.
I do not believe that this would be overly difficult.
Impact
Give people the option to install the app from a non-proprietary and privacy-respecting source (F-Droid).
Rationale
The only way to get the app currently, aside from building it yourself, is to download and install it through proprietary app stores. These app stores are bad for a variety of reasons (I am happy to elaborate if necessary) but chief among them is that they perform a lot of user tracking/data collection. This is sad. It would be good if users had the option to install the Refuge Restrooms app from privacy respecting source.
Proposal
As stated above, it would be good if users had the option to install the Refuge Restrooms app from privacy respecting source. The proposal is that this can be mitigated somewhat solved by packaging the Android version of the application on F-Droid.
Unfortunately iOS hasn't got much in the way of alternate app stores currently, but Android has F-Droid (https://f-droid.org), a non-proprietary and privacy respecting app repository. By packaging Refuge Restrooms on F-Droid, people will be able to get the app without subjecting themselves to personal tracking and data collection.
How to actually do this:
While there are several ways to do this, the easiest way would be to just put a Request For Packaging in the Submission Queue for the F-Droid team and let them handle it from there. More information can be found at https://f-droid.org/en/docs/Inclusion_How-To/.
If I've messed up this proposal somehow, or if you want more information, please let me know and I'll happily try to help.
