I got the following error when tried to install rdtsc:
OSError: /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/rdtsc/rdtsc.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I ran into the same issue. The wheel uploaded on PyPI only works for OS X. I was able to install by installing from the tarball on PyPI rather than the wheel.

You can do this by downloading the tarball from https://pypi.python.org/pypi/rdtsc , and then doing pip install /path/to/tarball.tar.gz. This method will require having a compiler locally installed.

@Roguelazer , if I submit a PR that fixes the setup.py, will you update the PyPI listing to use the fixed version?
