Godot has changed quite a lot and grown quite a lot since the Godot 2 days. Trying to make Godot 4 run on any hardware this limited is an uphill battle between extremely exorbitant RAM usage, and very inefficient CPU usage, as the engine grows more and more and isn't optimized because no one is testing for legacy hardware because no one working on the engine uses or targets legacy hardware.

Best way, I would say, to get a game engine running on the 3DS is to build one from the ground up, designed for the 3DS.

There are plenty of engines (eg. Love2D) that would work quite comfortably on 3DS if ported.

Modern Godot is not one of them.
