I just scanned through a few pages of questions and see that this gets asked a lot. It would seem that the default installation instructions lead you through installing the ee edition - which apparently is useless to me. I guess I will search and hopefully find the uninstall / reinstall for whatever version that I had hoped to install. I am certain that somewhere buried in the docs it clearly states that I am screwed and will have to rewind and start over to get what I believed I was installing but it certainly was not clear simply by following the default install links. My initial impression of the project is that it is pretty shady. |

I just tried to sign up for the 30 free trail to find the 'downgrade' option and it seems to require a 'work' email address. I'm working on open source projects and do not seem to have an email address that signoz will accept. Am I just not understanding something basic here because I seem to be getting run in circles. |

Follow up to your original question, how are you getting routed to the cloud? Is it from within the install? Is it after you open the UI? Some more details would help. |

I spent many hours going through the multi-step local-host / binary install for Unbuntu
Took quite a while and many iterations of tracking down issues, but all services are started without errors.
Now it seems like no matter what I do I get routed to the cloud and asked to start a 30-day free trial.
I'm not interested in that. Have I wasted all of my time?
Hope I didn't.
