Variable layer height size

Please give an option to limit variable layer height size. For example limit size between 0.24 and 0.12

And a layer minimal resolution.
I mean algorithms calculations are on 0.01mm but printer have a Z resolution of 0.04mm or 0.05 mm per step (minimal layer height)
How should a printer manage a layer of 0.21mm with a 0.04mm/step ?

Steps and microsteps are different.

Typically 1 step of the Z axis is equivalent to 20 or 40 microns. Each step is however split into 16 microsteps (more than that is not reliable enough), so you get 1.25 microns or 2.5 microns per microstep. Not 20 or 40 microns.
Also, at that point they are so small that even if the printer board approximates to the closest microstep, nothing will be visible.

I have the same problem that two of my FDM printers from different manufacturers don't cope with layer heights not being multiples of 0.04 mm. Variable layer heights consistently lead to defects in prints as Z-axis positioning can't resolve "odd" layer heights resulting from slicing. The only work around I currently have is to apply layer height modifiers and manually dialing in the layer height. This is very time consuming.

Adding the options for "min. layer height", "max. layer heigth", and "layer height step size" would be an tremendous improvement. I have been using these features in Cura. It would be great if developers could consider implementing this in the variable layer height feature.

Yeah the granularity should be an option.
I also would like to constraint Orca to pick later heights in multiples of 0.04 mm, so 0.08 0.12 0.16 0.20 ...

Please bring a similar feature from Cura. I really like Orca, but it's way behind in variable layer height size compared to Cura.
