Rework to .net 8

Any plans to refactor the code to work to .net 8. Currently this only builds on windows, we are running everything on openshift. Of not, I'll do the rework in the next two weeks

The issue you're going to run into is the System.Cryptography library, as well as the DirectoryServices libraries which AFAIK don't work outside of Windows anyways. We're targetting 4.6.2 because its the least common denominator amongst .net versions on the average deployment
