Log book with object display

Hi,

I have a use case where I'd like to have the contents of my observation log book (currently on paper :-)) display on an interactive map of the sky. For example, it'd be great if I could directly see which double stars I've observed in the past year or find a list of observations for a particular object.

Would something like this be achievable (and desirable) in Stellarium? As a plugin or otherwise.

We have the Observing Lists feature. User Guide 3.5.

I've seen that, but it didn't seem to enable inputting any additional information, like observation parameters. Let me see if it's been improved in the latest version...

This has been discussed a few times. we have no developer who has time to observe and need a logbook, and no observer has ever contributed or at least sufficiently clearly described a list feature and accompanyng workflows with everything included that they require.

Apologies, I didn't manage to find any previous discussions about this topic. I'm not asking for someone to code it for me. :-) I'm looking for feedback about desirability and potential implementation direction. I may (or may not) find time to prototype something like this, but I'd like to know if Stellarium is the right project to work with.

Go into issues and search for observing lists, open or closed. but #480 covers our clearest discussion so far, even linking an open format that could be adopted. Not sure if our current lists (intended for planning) can be just extended or yet another plugin should be made here.
