Epic Games Account Switching Fails (Loops Back to Login Screen) #497

Description

Summary
TCNO Account Switcher fails to switch between Epic Games accounts. Whichever account is currently logged in becomes the only one TCNO can switch back to. Switching away from the active account always fails and returns to the Epic login screen.

This happens consistently with multiple Epic accounts using standard email/password login and 2FA.

Steps to Reproduce
Open Epic Games Launcher and log into Account A normally.

Open TCNO Account Switcher.

Click Account B to switch.

TCNO logs out of Account A and opens the Epic login screen.

The email field may auto‑fill, but Epic does not log in.

Now click Account A again in TCNO.

TCNO logs into Account A successfully.

Now manually log into Account B in Epic.

Repeat the switching process:

Switching B → A fails

Switching A → A works

Switching B → B works

This behavior repeats indefinitely.

Expected Behavior
TCNO should log out of the current Epic account

TCNO should auto‑log into the selected account

Both accounts should switch normally in either direction

Actual Behavior
TCNO logs out of the current account

Epic returns to the login screen instead of logging into the selected account

The email field may auto‑fill, but login does not proceed

TCNO can only switch back to the currently active account

Switching away from the active account always fails

System Details
TCNO Account Switcher Version: (latest as of report)

Epic Games Launcher Version: Latest (new folder structure uses WindowsEditor)

OS: Windows 10/11

Login Method: Epic email + password (NOT Google login)

2FA: Enabled (but switching fails even before 2FA prompt)

Additional Notes
Issue occurs on both accounts, depending on which one is currently logged in

Clearing webcache, LoginCache.json, and GameUserSettings.ini does not resolve the issue

Killing all Epic background processes does not resolve the issue

Running TCNO as Administrator does not resolve the issue

Appears related to Epic’s new session‑locking behavior in the latest launcher update

Possible Cause
Epic Games Launcher may be locking the active session file in the new WindowsEditor config directory, preventing TCNO from overwriting the login session for the non‑active account.

sorry i wrote this with ai im short on time.
