just realized ( a little bit too late 😅 ) that in Biography, the item properties view and nowplaying view is not available when lyrics are found and displayed. Shouldn't we make this also possible to have item properties and nowplaying accessible regardless when lyrics are found? Did I miss something? Just checked and it is the same behavior in your original Biography.

Because of the new lyrics sources I have written for ESLyric, Georgia-ReBORN automatically saves and displays lyrics when found and that is almost for every song now, that means I didn't even realize the missing item properties and nowplaying views. I have forgot about those but I knew in the past they existed but couldn't figure out why they were not being displayed, I mean the behavior when
lyrics were loaded... took me an hour to figure this out 😅

What's your opinion about that?

do you know why foobar behaves like this when using a DTS file in wav file format?
As we know DTS is weird because it has its own codec and file format .dts.
If you use %codec% and %channels% with EvalWithMetadb(metadb) it outputs PCM 2 Channels.
If you use %codec% with Eval it outputs correctly DCA (DTS) 7 Channels.

Implemented Redesigned Lyrics Layouts, New Rating Systems, Playlist Diagnostics, and Various Enhancements

New Lyrics features

• Completely redesigned the Lyrics full layout

  • This layout has a special feature: when mouse hovering on the right edge,
    an album overlay will be displayed with artist, album, track ratings
    Clicking on the right edge pauses the track

• Additionally, two new Lyrics layouts, Left and Right, have been implemented

  • In these layouts, hovering over the album covers displays the new ratings
    Clicking on the album cover pauses playback

Another issue in foobar v2 is that lots of crap is also stored in the sqlite meta database file:
foobar2000\profile\metadb.sqlite. How large is your file? The issue here is that foobar v2 saves all sorts of metadata
information from tracks in this database file, also from tags etc. For now, foobar does not have the ability to clean it up,
i.e reducing the filesize. That means old and dead files are also stored there :(

The only way would be to rebuild it by deleting this file, but then you would lose all data.
This includes playlists, ratings, playcounts etc. There already are discussion on HydrogenAudio that Peter should improve it
and implement a clean functionality.

One last tip I can give you is that you should use foobar only during playback session and always close
and start foobar fresh when needed.

How many tracks does have your Library and Playlists? Also how long was foobar open until it happened?

Library: some 15k tracks
Playlist: was like one album when it was playing
Open duration: Maybe 15-20 minutes.. my foobar usage can hardly be considered intensive

Speaking of which, how is the progress with the SMP 64bit wrapper?

Ok this is not normal. I thought you had foobar open for one day or so...

I thought this was the memory issue ( the same error, i.e invalid parameters happens when there is no memory available or corrupt image ) but I have checked the crash logs you posted and it points to a corrupt album cover, this is 100%.
And I thought I handled this already and also correctly.

Do you know which album/track this happened? Maybe you can reproduce it?
Because I have done some testings myself with invalid/corrupt album covers to handle the errors and it seems OK.
I have done some test involving renaming an empty .txt file and renamed it to cover.jpg and normally a popup will
show telling the user that the image is corrupt...

So can you remember the album you have played and check all tracks to see if the crash happens again?
If you find the corrupt album cover, send it to me please.

There also is software on the web that can check your album art images if they are corrupt.
It is also possible that embedded album art in music files are corrupt.

Also can you do a test folder with a test track? Create a new empty .txt file and rename it to cover.jpg.
Drag and drop the test track into your playlist and play it. When you click on it, a popup should appear
saying that the album art is corrupt.

Ok this is strange, I am working with Georgia-ReBORN the whole day and do not get into these memory issues.
Do you have spinning disc art and if so, are you using lower degrees than the default 72 (5 degrees) in Options > Details > Disc art > Rotation images?

You also do not have full ram, meaning foobar is open and you play some games or other intensive memory eating resources?
And are you using additional foobar user-components? Maybe one user-component introduces memory leak...

I'll take a serious look at this, but I am at the moment focused on the 64-bit Georgia-ReBORN conversion.
This is hard stuff but I think it is doable... I only need to figure out how to correctly implement the COM/ActiveX interface
to JavaScript. Then I can write the missing UI Hacks and peakmeter bar functionalities as foobar user-component in x64
and we are good to go...

You wanted to display artist images for current playing album in the background image feature? Now you can!
Check this out how to do this:

• Implemented custom configurable album art filtering:
  • Users can now set their own album art filtering via their georgia-reborn-config.jsonc config file.
  • Filtering patterns can be set in the foobar2000\profile\georgia-reborn\configs\georgia-reborn-config.jsonc file
    in the "artworkPatterns" section. The default pattern filters out disc art from the album art:

the background image filtering for the Playlist, Library, and Lyrics panels respectively.

The `!` prefix at the start of the pattern is used for exclusion.
When no `!` prefix is used, the pattern uses inclusion.
Example to only display `artist.jpg` images for the Playlist background image:

All filtering options must be enabled to use the album art filtering:

It is a Github bug here in the posting system. It only works if you declare it as code block :(

Example: these are two backslashes \ without codeblock but shown as one backslash,

kinda strange cos i've run your theme for years on this same device and never got half as many errors as with the recent dev versions

Actually it is always the same issue you are reporting, that is when the memory is full,
you will get additional ones because it can not create objects etc. I am developing Georgia-ReBORN dev version and have
not once encountered this issue, it means I have it open and running the entire day. Just think about it for a second, if it would be the case, i.e the DEV version would have big memory issues, then why is it that you are the only one that is reporting it??? I would already get hundreds of these same reports from different users, wouldn't i!?

So did you try to use only the original user-components like I have already mentioned here?

Hi Tom, a small problem, I used to be able to mouse over the cover and scroll through the album images like Back inside the album, but now the locked cover doesn't allow you to browse through the other images inside the album~

I had some free time to take a look and the issue was because of the new filtering feature.
I forgot to also add the image formats, because if you not set them, it will also display non-image files in the list
when cycling with the mouse wheel doing weird things =)

A few fixes.

Struggling handling multiple channels on ffprobe thoug. Only reference to my usage is this , but no matter what I do with channels, splitchannel or channel_layout, it's always mono. If anyone has any idea, let me know!

Next step will be changing the current resolution preference, so that it behaves the same in ffprobe and ffmpeg, with points per second, and offer a resolution setting per binary mode (instead of global).

Multi-channel support changes a lot of places, can't help with that. But it's just a matter of changing data processing to an array of arrays (multiple channels) instead of a single array (1 channel).

I also told you I added JSDOCs everywhere, something you already did. Judging differences by lines means nothing in this case. You can skip those I think.

Either you revise each commit and take a look a the description (and I tried to not mix things unnecessarily) or accept that by implementing and changing code by yourself this is what happens 😅

You may also skip any new feature and just stick to bugfixes.

I think that I'll implement ( soon in the future ) directly waveform data processing in my new component
so we would not need to be dependent on ffmpeg or audiowaveform. Because if we have the opportunity
to directly get the data from foobar, we can use it and maybe it is even faster to process...

That's great. About being faster, no idea.

Comparing it to other components out there, which directly process the stream, in fact my implementation seems faster or similar in most cases. Also it uses less disk space than the rest, since I added a data structure and compression optimized for it.

But if you are able to output the stream as a com interface or something similar, I'm in. As long as you output the amplitude of the waveform in a sane way (ideally with configurable samples size), it's a matter of changing a few lines of code.

Obviously I'm talking about rendering the full waveform, if you only care about the current time, that will be faster. That's what JPS3 does with the VU meter. But as soon you need the full thing, all my tests point to other implementations being slower.

And today added the resolution setting, which now behaves the same on ffprobe and audiowaveform, as points/second.

Found it funny that audiowaveform was not really respecting that setting, since 1 point per second is in fact 2 values per second (+/-). So internally I double the value for ffprobe and now they offer the same amount of data.

I think that finally completes my to-do list here. Although I have seen that I don't really offer linear/log scale, like the old component. I may add that, it only affects a single function.

Actually I have nearly completed the rewrite of foo_ui_hacks, just need to finish some remaining things, code cleanup etc.

Actually I already use Georgia-ReBORN 64-Bit and it is stable.

Here Codec has little odd representation that has both ALAC with (WAVE symbol) and Apple Logo.
My suggestion for this to replace Apple logo and keep only wave form logo ALAC is fine.

Umm hey @TT-ReBORN I used the archive/refs/heads/master.zip (the DEV version) and the quick search feature I was able to disable but meanwhile I used this version, I encountered some other bugs, so I though it would be good if I mentioned those. Basically there are 2 problems right now, first that the pause button/overlay on the album art is mis-aligned. Second problem is that, when we are on the "details" page, the pause button/overlay is even more mis-aligned more over that, when paused by using a hotkey assigned to pause/play, instead of pausing right in the details page, it redirects me to the library page and then pauses the song. I have attached a video with this message, hoping you better understand the bug, cheers!

About the gap, this happens because in maximized or fullscreen mode it can not fill the artwork completely ( based on monitor resolution, the common ones are filled, QHD one's have this more ) proportional because of the aspect ratio/size of the player. The default behavior is that it should keep the artwork proportional, but if you want it to be filled in fullscreen or maximized mode you can do so here:

• Top Menu > Options > Player controls > Album art > When player size is maximized/fullscreen > Scale album art cropped
• Top Menu > Options > Player controls > Album art > When player size is maximized/fullscreen > Crop and stretch - always

Be sure to have "Crop and stretch - always" activated.

Scrolling animations exhibit frame drops/stuttering in non-default layouts

The background blur effect shows rendering inconsistencies

Hi yuewusha,

from the video you've posted, I can see that you have a lot of blending effects applied. Plus the new lyric layouts
have blurred background image and lyrics scrolling. These are intensive and expensive CPU processing and the old GDI renderer
is slow. Unfortunately this can not be optimized because the Spider Monkey Panel does not offer direct 2D or direct 3D GPU acceleration for these effects so we need to stick with GDI.

Now the smoothness depends how fast your CPU performs and then also what the player size is. The bigger the player size, the more CPU intensive the work is. If you have a better CPU, you will get smoother results, on slow CPU's you will get stuttering, i.e frame drops.
So if you have slow CPU, either make the player size smaller, or do not apply so many blending effects. This will improve the performance.

Also does not matter if you have multi-core CPU, JavaScript uses single-core...

P.S The second background image has very low quality ( image resolution ) in your album directory,
that is why the quality is so pixelated.

just wanted to let you know that Georgia-ReBORN 64-Bit is very soon released here unoffical in this DEV TESTING thread
first as 64-Bit beta here for testing. I only need to finish some remaining things but all is good and the conversion to 64-bit is a success with lots of improvements and some nice surprises! The wait was worth it =)

But the big question is, RC-3 was not officially released yet, lol!
The current state of Georgia-ReBORN here on Github, i.e the master version, will be officially released as RC-3.

This is just preparation for the 64-bit, so we have a snapshot before the 64-bit refactor.

The thing is, for 64-bit, I needed to change the official Spider Monkey Panel component to JSplitter that supports 64-Bit.
So I guess, Georgia-ReBORN 32-bit will not be offered anymore as pre-configured in the zip file. Because this will save me
maintaince work to not manage both 32-bit and 64-bit, but if you would want the 32-bit version, you could still set it up manually
with some extra work.

What are your thoughts about this?
There would be no reason to still use 32-bit right!? You could just install foobar 64-bit portable with Georgia-ReBORN 64-bit...

Sorry guys, let me clarify how it will work in the future.

The 32-Bit version will be always supported and you can always install it with the latest development updates BUT it will not be
pre-configured in the zip file anymore. That means, as you also know, you download the zip and just drag and drop the profile dir
into your foobar2000 root directory. It is actually the easiest way to install a theme because you do not need to setup things, just drag
and drop and start foobar, done. It works this way because I have set it up for the end-user to install it as easy as possible.

So for the Georgia-ReBORN 64-Bit version, I need to replace Spider Monkey Panel component with the JSplitter component to be
able to have the JavaScript work with foobar2000 64-bit. I also needed to write two additional user-components which was the most work!

I thought about it and the best way to support Georgia-ReBORN 32-bit in the future, would be to make an extra zip file
with the Spider Monkey panel and all additional needed user-components that are all in 32-bit. It would also include the
user-components config files that are needed. Then, if the user wants 32-bit, he would install foobar2000 32-bit, install the
latest master or release version that is pre-configured for 64-bit usage BUT he would get all latest updates. Finally the user
would also download this extra zip file with the 32-bit user-components and just replace them in his foobar2000 profile directory.
It is just an extra download and an extra stop to make Georgia-ReBORN 32-bit work. This would be the most optimal solution.

What do you guys think? And yes, Georgia-ReBORN 64-bit works 1:1 as Georgia-ReBORN 32-bit, no missing stuff,
it is the other way around, it will have improvements =)

Alternatively, you could add a .bat file to your files and ask via CMD where it should be installed (input path to foobar). There are CLI utilities like this:

Which allow you to check the architecture of any executable. Thus it would automatically check if it's x86 or x64. Contrary to asking the user to choose the proper one, this should work 100%.

Finally you create single zip file and all components variants there (which could be x86/x64, but also foobar v2 and v1 versions of SMP).

For now, I will do the separate zip file for 32-bit. Other progs also have it separate, so I think this will be good.
I do not want to bloat the zip file with additional 32-bit user-components stuff and have it clean.

just to be sure, you did the test with default and the same memory and GC settings for both SMP and JSplitter when doing the benchmarks right? Also to fully benefit from the 64-bit, you could use the optimized GC settings to improve performance
and then do a new test!?

Memory was set to max in all components and a look at a single picture shows we are using the same settings, yep. Anyway JSplitter x64 can not use more than 4GB, per LUR's words. I don't think I have the time or energy to further test all those variables in multiple setups though. Maybe some day checking multiple variables in a single setup.

Anyway data is clear and JS engine is mostly irrelevant for foobar related things specially GDI. So memory bounded algorithms are not so relevant I think. I mean if you perform the same thing 100K times, then yes, there may be a s of difference. But it's not like you retrieve the library 100000 times during normal usage, so we are talking about <500 ms in the worst case.

Also I am not so sure about that. Aggressive GC like the default values can degrade performance I think and also for the memory, I mean this would be an ideal test case scenario with large playlist and libraries, e.g 100.000 and more... If you have more memory, the JS Engine can better optimize the operations, and if GC is very frequent (default values), that produces also large (?) overhead. Just my immediate thoughts...

Maybe you could just make two test runs with large playlist iterations and also tag retrieval and do one with default values and those I have in the screenshots from the zip file and see if it is worth it?

Hello @TT-ReBORN! I’ve noticed something—maybe it’s my mistake or a small bug. I have an album Various Artists - Veneration of Irreverence / Post Mortem Abominations (Split). The covers are embedded, but when I enable the option:

Options → Player controls → Album art → Load embedded album art first
(And foobar2000: Preferences → Advanced → Display → Album art → Embedded vs External → Prefer Embedded)

The album cover and custom disc image don’t appear.

You can not get them from everywhere =).

You either look for png images on the web that you like and then resize, save and replace them in your custom images directory
or other users can share their custom ones with you.

I have designed them all with Photoshop, then some Chinese fans wanted alternative ones and they also designed the ones that are currently now the defaults and less digital but more general style than the alternative custom ones.

I do not have the time to design new ones, if other users/designers create new images and like to share them with other
users, I can feature this custom image pack on the main front site so others can download them.

Yes, Last.fm Scrobbling is the right component that is also preinstalled to use. I see you have logged in when you authorized, you did also confirm the popup right? Next log in to your last.fm profile on the last.fm website, then on the top right click on your profile and select the config (gear) icon. Next, click on Applications button, if everything is correct you will see foo_scrobble in the Connected Applications area.

Lastly you also need to setup your last.fm accout in Enhanced Playback Statistics component.
In your screenshot ( foobar preferences ) you have posted, click on Enhanced Playback Statistics.
There click on Retrieve Last.fm Scrobbles. In the input field, type your last.fm username and then also click Automatically pull recent scrobbles. Click on apply and restart foobar. Play music as you normally do, it will be updated on your last.fm user accout and after you played few tracks and replay it, the last.fm logo will be displayed.

I tested to be sure and all is good!
