Aircraft override of altitude/speed limits and acceleration configuration #564

Hi BlueSky team,

I’ve encountered a few issues related to aircraft behavior and configuration, and I’d like to clarify if these can be modified or improved.

Altitude limit not respected
Even after modifying the <max_alt> value in the A320.xml file (as shown in the attached screenshot, set to 99999 ft), the aircraft still descends automatically to approximately FL360 right after creation, with a vertical speed of -1500 fpm. Similarly, the aircraft's speed seems capped and adjusted automatically regardless of my input.

Control over acceleration behavior
I'd like to control the acceleration of aircraft in order to make them reach a given speed instantly when I use the SPD command. Is there any way to disable or override the built-in acceleration logic (e.g., set acceleration to an arbitrarily high value or force instantaneous speed changes)?

Missing aircraft profiles
I've noticed that only a limited number of aircraft types have XML performance profiles under resources/performance/BS/aircraft. However, I can still create aircraft like C680, which doesn't appear to have an XML file in that directory. Where are these models defined, and how can I edit their performance parameters (e.g., limits, speeds, acceleration)?

Any clarification or guidance on these topics would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
