PlaceUpdate - integrate a patch? or pull from 5.2 Gramps-Project repository?

PlaceUpdate was released through the Gramps-Project addon repository.

In Aug2021, Patrice Legoux suggested a patch in a Discourse forum thread:

Kari has mentioned previously that subsequent Place add-ons have obsoleted others and consolidation is desirable.

Could you review the patch (and the add-on) and determine if all its functionalities are actually available elsewhere? And then decide whether to: 1) integrate the patch, or 2) deprecate the addon?
