Debouncing/Batching Query Invalidation for Websocket Events

Hey!

We're using websockets to push updates (e.g., new messages, conversations) to our React app. Each update currently triggers an invalidate query, causing a database refetch. When updates come in rapid succession, this leads to excessive database queries.

Is there a way to delay or batch these invalidations, so we only invalidate after the stream of events pauses? Any suggestions appreciated!

have you tried:
queryClient.invalidateQueries(filter, { cancelRefetch: false })

this will make sure that multiple calls to invalidateQueries de-duplicate correctly.

However, I think my initial architecture was flawed, I should probably be reducing the number of emits server side allowed per second 🤔
