Describe the issue

Since getting HA and adding this integration I've noticed my Nest Doorbell (Battery) has drained very quickly. It is wired and trickle charges. Before this, I've never had to recharge it using USB-C. I've had to recharge three times in the last week or so. I've disabled the device in HA but it died again this morning (5 days after full charge)

Update: my solar powered Nest Cam also died, it is also disabled

I’m having the exact same issue. Do you still have Starling connected directly to Apple Home? I’m thinking about removing it from Apple Home and exposing from HA to Apple Home to see if that helps.

Interesting I only personally have wired devices. I’m guessing it’s continuously streaming / keeping the camera active. Not sure if anyone has ideas or suggestions on a possible fix?

It is probably worth checking if the battery drain continues with streaming turned off

I switched to using them as HomeKit Devices and the battery powered ones still died. HA would report them at around 65% and then suddenly 0%. I removed them from HA since I didn't have any automations using those cameras

I don’t have any automations for them either, but I was hoping to still integrate them into some dashboards. I’ve heard other people have success with the regular Honekit Devices integration, so I’m going to remove this and try that and see if anything improves.

Could reconfigure the integration and disable streaming and see if that helps

I've been checking almost every day and my camera has been totally fine. For whatever reason, the battery info wasn't available in HA, but from purely anecdotal evidence I was NOT seeing massive battery drain.

I purposely didn't update to the latest version (v1.8.1) to see if everything would stay working and it looked great for about two weeks. I just updated to v1.8.1 today and I now have battery info in HA again, but I feel like it's draining fast again. I don't have a lot of data yet, but I've dropped 2% in two hours. Considering the battery is supposed to last close to a month with minimal events, this is concerning. HA still shows it's charging so I'll monitor for the next few days and see if the latest update is causing an issue.
