There are no known fixes or documentation for abnormal PDF viewer display in Trilium Notes 0.99.4, but recent changes to Electron and webview resizing could affect embedded viewers like the PDF viewer. The PDF viewer uses PDF.js in an iframe, and issues can arise from browser compatibility, iframe sandboxing, or layout changes. In your screenshot, the viewer and controls appear present, so the abnormality may be subtle—possibly related to layout, scaling, or reloading. There is a known issue where editing a note can cause the PDF viewer in a split window to re-render on each keystroke, resetting the scroll position and causing high latency, especially in Chrome. This happens because Trilium broadcasts update events to all open splits, including those displaying attachments, which can lead to unnecessary re-renders and abnormal display behavior. This is a limitation in the current event propagation and rendering mechanism and has not yet been addressed in recent updates. More details are available here. Could you clarify what specifically looks abnormal (e.g., scaling, layout, controls, or reloading)? Does this happen with all PDFs or just this one, and which browser or platform are you using? This will help narrow down the cause. To reply, just mention @dosu. How did I do? Good | Irrelevant | Incorrect | Verbose | Hallucination | Report 🐛 | Other |
