Endpoint metadata improvements

Describe the feature request

It is very nice to have groups, but there are a few improvements I would like to request:

• allow for nesting of groups, to organize a very large set of endpoints into a tree structure.
• allow for an endpoint to be part of multiple groups.
• allow for adding tags to an endpoint.
• add a dedicated group view which shows only the items in a group, it would resemble the homepage, but limited to a specific selected group.
• add filter capability by one or more tags.

Why do you personally want this feature to be implemented?

For better management of endpoints and creating better views for different teams monitoring different groups.

Wouldn't tags/labels already enable the same functionality?

If tags are implemented this might also be covered already when filtering by labels is possible.

It looks like implementing labels would cover everything except nesting of groups. I think extending the group logic would mostly just duplicate tag/label functionality.

Well the nesting of groups would be used on the main overview screen where you would only list the top level groups which you could then open up and basically unfold the tree structure. This is hard to do with labels/tags. Same for a dedicated group view (which does not exist yet), you cannot really get that with labels/tags.

It are all tools to get to the info you need as fast as possible and/or only display what is needed. For that matter the following would be nice to:

• Group based notifications, notify when a group has one or more failure. This should ofc work with nesting.

This would trim down alerts if 50 endpoints fail but all belong to the same group. One notification will suffice there, now you would get 50.
