File path size limitations

A server I'm in uses ABSURDLY long category/channel names, and they're big enough to cause an error within the CLI tool:

I tried using file path templates to reduce the size, however, this does not work and still errors out.

How can I fix this? Should I send a bug report?

Hmm the path doesn't look too long, but I don't know what the limits are on the operating system you're using.

In your filename template, you can drop the IDs/snowflakes to trim out some size, if you don't need them for posterity.

The server names use special characters that mess with the size. I'm using linux mint.

The filename template doesn't seem to affect it, when I tried ditching names for ID's instead, the CLI was still processing the names for some reason, which triggers the error.

It is used, but the CLI is still internally processing the full potential path including special characters, even if the file name template is used.
