Items disappeared on barrel sorting

I had a barrel with some farmers delight and addon soups, as well as a custom soup added via kubejs, vanilla golden apple, carrots, and melons, and your golden apple crates.

I pressed the sort button and all of the golden related things just disappeared. The golden apples, enchanted golden apples, golden carrots, glistening melons, and your golden apple crates just vanished with no evidence they ever existed. I pressed sort again, assuming it was a visual glitch, closed and opened the barrel again, then alt f4ed hoping it wouldnt save that way and I could go back to when the items existed. Curiously, all the soups seemed to be fine.

Is this a known issue? Could it have been caused by one of the items being illegally stacked (I think I changed the aforementioned kubejs soup from 64 to 16, and there was less than 4 slots left).
