Describe the bug

I’m experiencing severely reduced framerates when using this virtual display driver. I suspect this may be tied to the codec decoding process.

Specifically:

I observe consistent stuttering and low FPS, despite having a powerful GPU (e.g., RTX 3090).

My impression is that the driver may be defaulting to 10-bit output or using a decoding path that isn’t hardware‑accelerated, which adversely impacts performance.

My key questions are:

Is there a way to explicitly configure the driver (perhaps via XML or options.txt) to force native 8‑bit output and avoid 10‑bit modes entirely?

Could this framerate issue be mitigated by adjusting codec settings—or is there a known configuration to ensure hardware‑accelerated decoding?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
