Put forums in read-only archive mode?

As the chat is unreachable to me (the maintainers don't fix the Alfred issue), i suggest it here:

The forums are dead. No message ever gets published there even if you try, because it's been censored-by-default by inactive mods.
It would make sense to switch the forums to a read-only archive mode instead of giving a false hope that this can be used to communicate with other players.
