(Apologies if I am posting this to the wrong area)
A front-facing UX QoL suggestion related to Search Block: When viewing my site (using Twenty-Twenty-Five), I type into the search field, the page refreshes to show content (archive template) and then if I click the search field again, it still has text in it. I'd prefer it did not since 99% of the time I intend to type a new search term, and I am forced to manually delete what's already in there. (I acknowledge that some users probably like that the text is still there as it's an opportunity to correct any typos).
New Option Request:
A simple checkbox in Search Block settings that adds the option to always clear the search textfield when it is "opened" using the magnifying glass button, or perhaps cleared after a search is done (the EXACT mechanism is up to you).
Front facing UX if checkbox for “Clear Search Field” is checked ON:
Click magnifying glass button
It opens the search field (assuming it’s been configured to hide it)
The search field clears any existing text that had been typed in from previous use.
Front-facing UX if checkbox for “Clear Search Field” is checked OFF:
(Leave as it currently is)
Click magnifying glass button
It opens the search field (assuming it’s been configured to hide it)
The search field retains any existing text that had been typed in from previous use.
Thanks!
