Save dialog doesn't remember the last used folder

When I save a file, I navigate to the folder I want to save it, then hit save. Later when I hit save again, the dialog does not start at the last folder I saved the file to, so I have to navigate again.

I did a little bit of investigation and it appears that the last_folder that has been saved to my bosca.settings is just "/" so I suspect either _finalize_file_dialog isn't being called, or the _file_dialog.current_dir does not contain the correct value.

I'm running 3.1.2 on macOS here.

Thanks for the report! Your findings are indeed concerning. I double-checked on my Windows machine and noticed that on Windows we never save the disk name, only the path. Somehow, this still worked without a hitch and the last used folder did get restored upon relaunch. Which made me miss the issue, I guess.

I'll investigate further! Out of curiosity, what the expected path would've looked like in your case? Just something like /topfolder/ or a deeper /path/to/file/? Or something else entirely? I don't need your exact path, of course, just a general idea about how it might've looked like! My ability to test on macOS is limited, so I'd like to better understand the cause of the issue before I do 🙂
