Colima start failing on M2 Macbook

Hello,
I am new to Colima so this is a fresh install on MACOS 15.3. After using brew to install Colima when I try to run start I get the following message

colima start
INFO[0000] starting colima                              
INFO[0000] runtime: docker                              
INFO[0003] starting ...                                  context=vm
> Creating an instance "colima" from template://default (Not from template://colima)
> This form is deprecated. Use `limactl create --name=colima template://default` instead
> Using the existing instance "colima"

Same message on colima start --arch aarch64 --vm-type=vz

The start hangs and I have to force exit.
if i do a limactl list I see
colima Stopped 127.0.0.1:0 vz aarch64 4 4GiB 100GiB ~/.lima/colima

Not sure if this is an issue with 15.3 and Colima. Is there a way around it or should I put in an issue?

Having the same problem. Two weeks ago it worked, but now it is broken.

Doing this results in the same error, why?

limactl delete colima

limactl create --name=colima template://default

(M1 Macbook)

Update
I deleted Colima with brew and installed it again. After starting it again I had the problem that it was stuck at Terminal is not available, proceeding without opening an editor. After searching I found this as a solution #1248 (comment)

I removed sudo rm /private/var/run/docker.sock and sudo rm /private/var/run/com.docker.vmnetd.sock to be safe. After that Colima started again.
