boost version

I am trying to run the qlever-control without docker.
so far
I cloned this repo,
mkdir build && cd build
cmake ..
returns:

 Could NOT find Boost: Found unsuitable version "1.74.0", but required is at
  least "1.81"

sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
returns I have the latest which is 1.74

am I doing something wrong? one way probably is to download boost 1.81 manually and build, is that comon in this process?
