Ble.sh Ctrl+X, Ctrl+C not working over SSH

I have Ble.sh setup on my server that I access over ssh. On the prompt, Ctrl+C works and cancels any running command, but when I open nano, I am unable to close or save the file with Ctrl+O or Ctrl+X. Instead, I get some random characters appear on the screen.

When I disable Ble.sh in my .bashrc file and relogin, the issue goes away.

Any ideas?

It can be related to the support for modifyOtherKeys by the terminal. What is your terminal? What is the result of ble summary?

I am using foot as my terminal. I have foot-terminfo installed on the server. ble is not a recognised command.

Yeah, that seems to have solved it on initial testing, although 2 things didnt work, the links on the nightly page under usage all give a 404 error, and bash ble-nightly/ble.sh --install ~/.local/share kept complaining of not running in an interactive session. I just manually moved the files instead.

OK, thanks for the report. These links are automatically generated with the following code. The GitHub Action seems to have changed the value of github.event.repository.url at some point.

This means that you downloaded an old version of the nightly build. I tested the latest version of the nightly build, but it doesn't produce any errors. Which tarball did you download? ble-nightly-20250608+14f98dd.tar.xz (which is also available as ble-nightly.tar.xz) is the latest version.

I fixed the URLs generated by the nightly build in commit 97c6cae.

The GitHub Action API isn't really documented, so I needed to find a way to how to access the list of available options in the CI. To know the API, GitHub seems to require outputting and saving the result of toJSON(github) in the CI. I finally did it using the following workflow file:
