I followed the wiki and I am able to set up the scenario that Alexa can call a Lambda function, then it calls back to my HA instance in home via port forwarding. I also created a group that includes my 3 Echo Dots and a sensor to check the last called status, all according to the Wiki. Everything "seems" to be working.
The problem I am having is when I say "Alexa", the "last call" sensor status changes about 2 seconds later. Also note that a week ago, this delay was about 15 seconds. This morning I noticed an update on the Alexa media player to version 3.10.12. It obviously made some improvement to reduced the delay to be 2 seconds. But still, it is not as fast as the wiki described. Thus, the state cannot be directly used in script.
I am looking for some ideas to fix this. I know I can add a delay before checking status but the Wiki seems to indicate this is not necessary.
