Issues installing - no checkboxes and error 500

Hi all,

I am trying to install Alexa Media Player in a fresh HA setup.

[edit: i found that the checkboxes about legacy have disapeared in v4]

I did it in the past and made it work, but now I can't even install it.

As I can't select anything, i just include my information, the 2FA info (the long number from amazon website, not the 6 number from the authentication app), and simply select next.

Then I am asked to confirm the 2FA code, which I do (and it shows the appropriate code), and then I am redirected to an amazon/alexa login website (the URL is from my server).

Once I include the login credentials, I am getting an error 500.

This happens with every version I can download from HACS (4.0.X and 4.1.X, I can't download any older version).

Is there anything I am doing wrong?

I've been searching Internet for possible solutions, but I am not finding anything. Some point to reinstalling the integration, but I did several time with different versions (from 4.0 to 4.1.2).

Do anybody have a clue about what may be happening?

Sorry for all the inconvenience.

When configuring the integration, the URL was by default XXX.duckdns.org:8123.

However, I had to remap my ports to redirect external port 443 to internal 8123, as my ISP blocks the port 443 and cannot be open. I had to do this some days after configuring HA, so some configs were still in port 8123.

By checking the network settings, I found that the Home Assistant URL was still in 8123.

Changing it to port 443 worked just fine, and alexa media player is already working.

Or at least, I think this was the solution...

The fact is that, in my case, it was not an error of the integration, but of my specific configuration.

When configuring the DuckDNS addon, I needed to include the duckdns URL I set up to connect from outside the network. As my ISP did not allow me to use the port 443, I mantained the 8123 port to connect, which was still working (I had previously opened port 8123 in my router). So, following the duckdns tutorials, I configured HA to connect to https://xxxx.duckdns.org:8123 and everything worked perfectly.

However, when configuring another addon or integration, and I don't remember which one, I had to use necessarily the 443 port, so I opened port 443 (external) in my router and redirect it to port 8123 (internal).

With that done, everything was working without problem, I just had to start using https://xxxx.duckdns.org:443 instead of https://xxxx.duckdns.org:8123, and I did not change anything else

When I tried to install the Alexa Media Player, I had to include the "URL to access homeassitant", as shown in the image (which I gathered from google, I do not have any screen capture now).

As I everything was working, I was including the https://xxxx.duckdns.org address, to the port 443 in the Alexa Media Player dialog.

When configuring the integration, after including and accepting the 2FA, you are requested to login into Amazon/Alexa, but from your own URL address if you check your browser. Here is were I was having the error.

Error 500 means that something in the server failed, and it was probably nothing in the Amazon side. So it had something to do with (a) the integration, or (b) my configuration.

After browing different sections in the "Settings" pane of HA, I found that in "System / Network", the "Home Assistant URL" included for "website addresses Home Assistant should share with other devices when they need to fetch data from Home Assistant (eg. to play text-to-speech or other hosted media)." was directing to the port 8123 and not 443.

As I changed the port forwarding in my router and therefore external port 8123 was closed, I assume the Alexa Media Player integration could not connect with HA. Changing it to port 443 solved the issue.

I don't know if this can be your case, I think it is something very particular of how I configured initially HA and the changes made after the first installation.
