Dear competition participants,
The simple evaluation script we provided with the examples so far raised an error if the instance-wise time limit
t
of a series was violated once. This was stricter than specified in the rules, where we said that only the entire run for one instance will be terminated strictly after 50 times
t
times 1.1. I have now changed this such that only a warning is printed by the simple evaluation script. Of course, in the computation of the score any excess is penalized as specified in the rules. While our intention was clearly that the approaches respect also the instance-wise time limits, violating them is legal and will not disqualify anyone. Note, however, that exceeding the time limit for the entire series will strictly invalidate the results for this series.
We wish you all a good final sprint until the approaching deadline next Wednesday!
Best of luck,
Ambros
