Hi All,
What is changing?
As of April 9, 2021, customer phone numbers for Easy Ship orders in the India marketplace are no longer visible to selling partners. This change has been made to protect customer confidentiality. Previously, customer phone numbers were returned as part of the Address data type for the ListOrders and GetOrder operations in the Amazon MWS Orders API.
This change only affects Easy Ship orders and not self ship orders.
Which marketplaces are affected?
This change only applies to the India marketplace.
Who is affected?
Developers with applications that access Easy Ship orders using ListOrders and GetOrder operations.
What action is required?
No action is required. This is information provided to developers to answer questions you may receive from selling partners using your application who could previously view phone numbers and now cannot.
However, if the selling partner requires access to customer phone numbers to obtain critical information necessary for order completion, they can submit a request for consideration. The team will look into the requests and approve or reject within 7 business days based on the business justification and criticality of the information required from customers for order completion.
Requests to access customer phone numbers that are not critical to order completion will be rejected. Selling partners can continue to use the Buyer-Seller Messaging channel to communicate with their customers.
Best regards,
The Selling Partner API team
