Observed on Pixel 2 running Android 11 beta 2.5.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Load app, tap Albums->Wake up->Intro to start playing the first song in the album "Wake up"
  • Tap the media route button and choose a Cast device, confirm that playback is heard
  • Drag down from the top of the screen to show the media controls
  • Tap skip to next track

Expected result:

The notification metadata immediately changes to the next track in the album

Actual result:

For 1-2s the static media controls are shown (which just displays a play button), once the song has started playing on the Cast device the notification changes to the expected one.

My guess is that the notification relating to the previously playing song is being removed before the new song is ready.
