SUMMARY

support for builtin winget starting server 2025 and windows 11
There was already a feature request but it was closed without implementing. Based on the fact that winget will be builtin in newer versions of windows it should be implemented. There was also already a merge request with code who could get developed further.

As jborean mentioned in the PR, current winget does not support WinRM.

There is a workaround but I think that is not good way to apply this within the module

wouldnt it be possible to do it with ssh support already and the information that its not supporting winrm at the moment based on the issue?

Windows Server 2025 supports native SSH so winget module would be great.
Just use SSH to connect to the server :)

@pzenz16 OpenSSH server has been included since Windows 10 (1809) and Server 2019, so yeah it would make a lot of sense to start utilizing SSH more globally.

The WinRM problem seems to be fixed now, so now it can also be implemented with winrm...
