Could not search mailbox

Set up a new instance, IMAP is working via a proxy to Office 365: https://github.com/simonrob/email-oauth2-proxy/tree/main. IMAP works perfectly with Thunderbird client using basic auth, so that's not the issue. Even tried this fix for encoding since Exchange is the backend of Office 365: #105 (comment)

Sadly, nothing works, and an IMAP client (Thunderbird) can get the email fine.

Got this working in a crude way

    {
        $response = new MailboxResponse();

        $mailbox = $ci_mailbox->getMailbox();
        $mailbox->setServerEncoding('US-ASCII');
        $mail_ids = $mailbox->searchMailbox('UNSEEN');
