Can images be customized or must official ones be used

This question is too vague. What kind of custom image do you want to replace, and what are the differences from the original image?

docker.io/apecloud/mysql is excatly the same as docker.io/libary/mysql , we just synced the images. you can replace it to compatible versions of course.

and i am curious about the motivation behind. you want to new a newer mysql version or you have you own mysql edition?

Thanks. I'd like to use the latest MySQL version or Bitnami's image, but I'm worried about compatibility issues if I make changes.
