Hi folks,

We're shipping a beta of the new Section Template Library module. This is available early for our Pro and Assembly customers to try out.

This module allows editors to take existing widgets and make them "section templates" for possible reuse elsewhere on the site. Like our Doc Template Library, it helps a lot with the "blank page" problem, where users stare at the page wondering how to get started.

If you have a Pro or Assembly license, come give it a try! Don't have Pro yet? Come check out what the Pro license has to offer.

We expect the final stable release to arrive next month, but there will be an upgrade path if we do make any changes that require one.

Not ready to get a Pro license yet? Don't worry: we have big new features in store for open source, too. Yes, features that make sense "at scale," like this kind of content reuse, are sometimes Pro. That's a good thing — every sustainable project needs a business model. But features that ensure developer freedom and editor happiness for everyone are always on the roadmap for open source.
