I'm using Safari on iOS, but Chrome on macOS.

When signing up on passkeys.io I see a new entry in my iCloud Keychain Password Manager Metadata: www.passkeys.io (....), with access control listing com.apple.password-manager.

How will this passkey be accessible to Chrome on macOS to log in with the passkey?

There seems to be an extension for exactly this kind of scenario, but it does not work on macOS:

I hope passkeys can be shared between Apple devices (via iCloud Keychain) regardless of the client (browser) that uses them, so that one does not need to use a third party password manager to store and sync passwords/passkeys.

You can close this issue now. iCloud Keychain support for passkeys has been added to Chrome late last year (also works in other Chromium-based browsers).

Firefox also added it in January of this year.

It works on macOS 13.5 or later.

You don't need an extension for it. The browser communicates directly with the operating system.
