Hello everyone,
I am working with the AquaCrop model and have a question regarding the use of soil water content (SWC) data. Specifically, I want to understand whether manually inputting measured SWC values (e.g., from field sensors or soil sampling) into the model has an impact on the simulated crop yield.
Does using observed SWC data override the model’s internal soil water balance calculations? If so, does this lead to any significant difference in the final yield output compared to letting AquaCrop simulate SWC on its own based on weather, soil, and irrigation inputs?
I would really appreciate any insights, experiences, or references from those who have explored this aspect. Thank you in advance!
